5.0 out of 5 stars far too accurate ! UPDATE - excellent service under warranty., 13 Feb. 2010

This review is from: Salter 9028 Razor Ultra Slim Technology Electronic Glass Bathroom Scale - Silver (Personal Care)
Looks fabulous, worked straight out of the box. However, I have added 9 pounds, compared to the old scales. I checked it using carefully calibrated weights and it is (unfortunately) extremely accurate. Drat !

UPDATE: I bought these scales in 2010 (Amazon is wonderful for keeping records of what & when) and they have been in daily use. Recently they started saying 'Err' instead of my weight. So I phoned Salter, and a very helpful lady took me through some tests. Still no joy so after providing proof of purchase (Thanks again, Amazon !) she sent out a free replacement under the 15-year (!) warranty. Brilliant ! I would NEVER buy any other scales !! And at the moment they are £10 cheaper than I paid in 2010. Amazing !

I wonder, would you still say they're accurate after 2 years? I've just bought them and tested them against my other scales which gave inconsistent readings. The first time I put a test object on it, it gave it a weight 1 kg heavier than the old scales. I then moved it around and checked again and it shifted down to close to the other scales' reading. It continued to move up and down by about 100g (which I know is the claimed accuracy threhold so not a real criticism per se). I'd just like to know whether I can trust these scales.

My floors are wood and tiles and look pretty flat! ...In fact I've just checked and the wood floors are reasonably flat, not perfect but I doubt any normal household floor is, and the tiles in the bathroom are even more so. So there goes the only explanation I could think of.
