One of the better Orchard Toys games,
This review is from: Orchard Toys Where's My Cupcake? (Toy)
This is a game of chance - there 10 different types of cupcake. At the beginning one of each is laid on the table and the others are placed in a pile face down. You take it in turns to turn over the top cupcake if it matches one of the table, then you take the cupcake along with one on the table and put them on your pile. If it doesn't then anybody whose top cupcake on their pile matches it takes it and puts it on their pile. Otherwise it goes on the table. Winner is the person with the most cupcakes in their pile at the end.
As you'd expect from Orchard Toys, the pieces are really good quality. Unlike some of their other games, I actually quite enjoy playing this one as does my three and a half year old who finds the rules straightforward to follow. I can't put my finger on why I enjoy it more than some of the others, but I do. It also works fine with two players unlike some of their other games. Educationally, it's basically just a case of following a set of rules with a little bit of counting at the end (usually in the teens or twenties), so nothing terribly exciting, but as my son enjoys it, I presume he is getting something out of it!
