This is an excellent book which focuses on aspects of Patient Safety which must be foremost in the mind of all Health Professionals , from health care assistants to doctors and those who make the plans for services and care in the soon to be devolved PCTs.
I have read it several times since it arrived and have found it useful to discuss the case studies with my students over the past couple of months - and can also relate these to events which are happening in practice and although it is mainly focused on the secondary care (hospital) environment it is equally pertinent to primary care .
It compares various health systems and is fairly up to date.
The writer is a credible Patient Safety expert and I feel this should be essential reading for all who have anything to do with patients.
