3.0 out of 5 stars Very good projector if purchased for under 325 GBP or 500 USD outside of the U.S., 19 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Epson EB-X02 2600 Lumens XGA Projector (Electronics)
Excellent feature of this is the fact that no color dots appear when watching black and white movies. I do not like the fact that the bulb is an overprice item, similar to how Epson charges nothing for their printers but 150% of the printer price for their ink cartridges. The bulb is where Epson makes their money...a $15 product for ten times more. They do not warn you that you should not cut the power when you are finished. Rather, leave the cord plugged in for at least 5 minutes after turning off, otherwise the bulb has a lower life.

Flightcrew says:
The projector does what it says on the tin, however, a good, strong LED whitelight source costs NOTHING APPROACHING what they sell their bulbs for. A little clever design means that you can't use anything OTHER than their overpriced lamps. It will be interesting to see what the real lamp life is, as many firms calculate their lamp life in clean rooms, that are well chilled and under absolutely optimum conditions. I suspect that in the real world of dust and contaminants, you would be lucky to get half the lamp life stated.

Also - whatever air filters are in this thing - DON'T SCRIMP ON KEEPING THEM IN TIP TOP CONDITION. In reality, the moment they become contaminated the air flow through the projector is compromised and hey presto - short lamp life. Three miniature LCD panels means dust in the light path is a real possibility.

Overall, a good product for the price, but the lamps are a total rip off.
