Customer Review

on 30 December 2013
Okay I admit that I'm probably being nostalgic giving this lovely little book 5 stars but I couldn't help it - it's a sweet little book and filled me with memories. I grew up in Durban and reading through recipes with both the familiar and some long forgotten ingredients with all the lingo I've not heard for two decades has made me want to try them all to see if I can recapture the taste of my childhood. I'm so excited to finally have a recipe for melk tert and koek sisters - not to mention sosaties - perhaps you need to have the memories of South Africa in your heart when you read this charming little recipe book filled with not only the simple flavours of South Africa but also a glimpse of the colours that are such a rich part of life over there found in the quirky watercolours :) Yes I would recommend this to you.
