This review is from: Incompetence (GOLLANCZ S.F.) (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book - it was fast paced, the central character was likeable, the plot wasn't rocket-science but was good enough to tie the whole thing together.
The book is fully of little one/five liners that will have you chortling as you read. I agree with other reviews that say there's something of the Douglas Adams about Rob Grant's writing style.
The interactions with the grossly incompetent/inappropriately positioned denizens of Rob Grant's world were (for me) amusing rather than annoying and I thought he integrated just the right amount of exasperating encounters to make the point without ramming it down my throat.
For me it was a fun few hours with Harry Salt a.k.a Harry Tequila a.k.a Cardew Vascular - I'd definitely recommend it if you like fast-paced, witty thrillers.
