more of the same but that's more than enough,
This review is from: Delhi9 (Audio CD)
tosca - uber-cool austrian duo richard dorfmiester and rupert huber - return with their third album and 10 new tracks.
whilst some will argue that their sound hasn't really progessed since last album 'suzuki', this album has definitely more of a live instrumentation feel to it - without abandoning their dub rhythm sensibilities that is very much a part of the tosca 'sound'.
this is not an exceptional album by any means but there's more than enough here to keep both fans and newcomers alike entertained. 'wonderful' featuring earl zinger on vocals is, well, wonderful and the oddball 'me & yoko ono' has entrancing, understated vocals from anna clementi.
in fact the whole atmosphere is one of laid back grooves as snippets of vocal samples drift in and out of the songs along side real guitars, drums and bass.
and as if that wasn't enough, for under a tenner you also got a second 30 minute cd that features some of huber's piano compositions given the magic dorfmeister touch. the results are breathtakingly beautiful and have a decidely more ambient feel than the album 'proper'.
and as with most g-stone releases the packaging of the cd itself has been given a bit more thought than your average release and looks very stylish.
