Customer Review

on October 25, 2004
Mr Schonberg covers the composers from Monteverdi to Schnittke and development of musical thought over the 400 years in 720 pages. The book may seem frighteningly voluminous but the author has made his best to make it enjoyable read. It is symphatetic that Mr Schonber has found something positive about every composer he writes about. Besides people the author can write well about music - I got more interested in the subject.
