blink and you'll miss this acoustic pop/rock classic,
This review is from: It's A Shame About Ray (Audio CD)
Unlike previous attempts by Evan and the gang, this immensely listenable. It has an "unplugged" feel.Normally this means the songs are stripped bare and dull. Here it really works.
Evan's take on life is a bit "cuckoo". Songs about wearing your ex's favorite tee-shirt and how it suits you better; about how your reflection looks when you see it in the back of a spoon; about how street lights at night make you feel you're descending to hell as you drive along...Erm, Okaaayyyy?
The whole CD is barely half an hour long. But what a 30 minutes they are. (Don't disappear to the loo after this starts).
If you play guitar you'll love this - the chord structures are exceptional. Hang on, I'm putting you off here.
To finish, I'm being a bit controversial here, I reckon it's better than Nirvana's Nevermind - which is one of my all time favorites. Don't set the grunge police on me!
