Back in the 1960s this show was so popular that you could hear it through loads of peoples open windows when it was being broadcast. Everyone listened to it even when they said they hadn't. The slightly subversive script is as funny today as it was then with Betty Marsden playing wacky dames and well known cooks of the day. Hugh Paddick always looked like he should have been working in a bank but when paired up with Kenneth Williams they were quite outrageous. Bill Pertwee got another great break with this show.Kenneth Horne added some sanity to the proceedings but deep down I'm sure he was the most rebellious of the lot. Writers Marty Feldman & Barry Took produced lots of winning shows and the two here are good examples of the innocent fun broadcast in those days. The sound quality is excellent. Running time approx 45 minutes. Brilliant!
