I was lucky enough to meet Ken at the Wigtown Book Festival and was hugely inspired by his talk there. I found his book equally inspiring: it genuinely made me laugh out loud in several places, and I shed a tear at the end too. Well written, it stands up simply as a good story in it's own right; but if you're interested in simple living, and questioning the treadmill of soul deadening office jobs to pay for your mcmansion, you will also find it thought provoking and possibly even life changing. "I am convinced both by faith and experience, that to maintain one's self on this earth is not a hardship but a pastime, if we will live simply and wisely" said Thoreau, and Ken proves him right.
