It was great hearing this album - while many of his contemporaries have ditched electronics or forgotten why they used them in the first place, Foxx remains inspired by them. You can hear that on this heavily synthetic, atmospheric and stranegly charming album. I love all the little design elements too - the cover, the grey graphics, the image of the lonely figure on a bridge. If anyone still embodies the artistic, futuristic dreams of those early synth pioneers - it's John Foxx. Making intelligent music, experimenting with super 8 and story-telling, creating a whole world that is surprisingly diverse but it all holds together somehow.
