Im not one to usually review a product before its out however as a lifelong Guns N'Roses fan i fell compelled to.
This album has been in production since 1996 and has been given a release date or year every year since 2002 (so 5 years and counting). Unfortunately it keeps getting put back and has unfortunately become something of an inside joke within the music industry.
First of all let me establish one thing. This album does not feature the calloborative efforts of Slash, Duff, Izzy Stradlin or Matt Sorum/Steve Adler (the drummers). This is Axl Rose and what has been a succession of session musicians.
Second, very little is known about what music is on the album, apart from the Tracks that Mr Rose has himself played at live events (but decried as being the filler of the album, not the big stuff) so any rating at this stage will be both unhelpful or misleading.
For the record new songs that have been played are:
Chinese Democracy, There was a Time, Rhiad and the Bedouins, IRS,Better,Silkworms, The Blues, Madagascar and Catcher in the Rye
Third, this is not AFD or UYI GNR. The songs that have been played indicate this. The music has moved on (again highlighted by MR Rose himself) and it will be a different sound to perhaps what casual GNR fans will be expecting.
I would stronly reccomend that everyone waits to the albums release (if it does get released) before reviewing as it, as its like reviewing the contents of a box before you've opened it.
