Glossy but sparse,

This review is from: Lighting for Portrait Photography (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
This is a 90%-picture-10%-prose volume. The photos are compelling and each has details of the setup and a lighting diagram.
The problem is that reproducing each photo will have you buying lots of expensive gear. I read it in about half an hour and was left wishing for something I could more get my teeth into.
It's a coffee table book that ends up being a photo showcase with an instructional afterthought. It's enjoyable and worth dipping into, but I still need a book to really get me up and running with limited funds (and 'studio' space).
