Cop Jeff Slade (Michael French) is about to be in big trouble after blowing an undercover job. But he is saved by police science officer Holly Turner (Chloe Annett) who uses the time machine created by her late father to unearth vital evidence that helps Slade. Once Slade has worked out what has happened he realises the potential in popping back in time to solve baffling crimes. This is the basis for this series. And yes it is far fetched. But once you get past that you get some very clever stories that use the usual time travel problems. He has to be back within a set time. And he must not be seen by himself, etc, but there are a lot of twists and turns and some good humour. An excellent use of the science fiction genre. But sadly the BBC axed the series after only a few episodes. A small crumb for science fiction fans to keep them happy and then they went on to give us over a decade of un funny comedians, endless cookery programmes, hours of sport, mindless reality shows and politically correct rubbish whilst telling us what "we like". This is a first class, British Science Fiction based series.
