This review is from: Stones (Kindle Edition)
I found Polly Johnson's 'Stones' to be exceptionally insightful about addiction and grief; how both can destroy families and create 'bubble' living and secrets, where no real meaningful dialogue exists between the affected people. Although Polly is targeting her book towards the young adult reader, it is a good read for any age.
Coo was walking a thin line between following in her brother's footsteps and finding herself, and ultimately her potential. Her friends are largely unconsciously instrumental in helping her find a good path, even Banks in his brokenness. For me this book was a real page turner which ends with a kind of redemption. I loved it.
