Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Tenvis Black Mini Wireless Pan/Tilt Internet Ip Camera Webcam Cctv Uk Format
The instructions provided are useless and did not provide anything clearly. There seems to be at least two maybe three crude pieces of software that must be used to set these up. The software did not recognised the cameras I ordered but the web UI did, even though they would work over the wired connection through wireless they just would not work. I went through the setting several times and typed in the setting very carefully. I am normally pretty good with things like this. I spent nearly an hour and gave up thinking this should not be this difficult and if it is then it can't be any good. I have put in a return request for them.
The company in terms of support have been near useless. They offer non-committal responses to acknowledge every email you send without actually addressing the email you have sent. These emails are not automated, which makes it even more frustrating.
I finally got a response to a request to return the product which I bought from the official supplier, which was to try and troubleshoot the issue and not give me return instructions. Below are the criteria you need to meet to get this working, something they fail to tell you before purchasing it.
1. Make sure there is no more than 10 meters distance and no barrier between the camera and router, please double check the wireless antenna and tighten it if necessary.
2,After you set up the wireless in the camera , please wait for 5 minutes, then remove the ethernet cable and remove the power supply, then plug in the adapter again.
3.This IP camera does not support 802.11n wireless protocol.
If your router is working with these two modes which are 802.11n and 802.11b/g/n mixed, it might be the problem.
Please check the wireless mode in your router and change it to 802.11b/g mixed or 802.11g.
4. The IP camera does not support 12 and 13 wireless channel. If your router use both of these two wireless channels, it might be the problem. Please change it to other channels.
