The R.O.GNT folk seem to be selling speakers in all kinds of variations. I recently reviewed one that had a Blue Tooth option and it worked well enough with my mobile but it was really overpriced. This version has an FM radio which I thought would be useful but the radio is so basic and as another reviewer has mentioned, it's not much better than one from a pound shop.
To tune in a station is far too fiddly and there isn't even frequency readout to help. Another mini speaker I reviewed has a radio that scans through the frequencies and stops at a strong signal and has a readout in red (though with both of them you have to retune when they are turned on again). This is the XSories Boom Box Speaker for iPhone/iPad/iPod/MP3/Laptop and I'm beginning to think, in comparison with from anything R.O.GNT, that it's a little gem (see a couple of snaps I've uploaded)
I think it's worth forgetting about the radio aspect and just use it as a mini speaker for an mp3 or SD card. Surprisingly the playtime is only two hours, according to the maker's website. Considering the size I thought the sound was reasonable but overall I think the unit is definitely overpriced.
