Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Kingston 266X 16 GB Compact Flash Card - Red/Black (Personal Computers)
I had to buy this because I bought a Canon 5D MKII and wanted high bandwidth data transfer for the Full HD video recording. First of all I bought an SDHC to Compact Flash adaptor. This was a mistake because I learned about the fact that the Campact Flash standard has a much higher capacity data transfer bandwidth. Basically its not technically possible to get high speed transfer from the SD cards because its restricted by its architecture. Why am I telling you this? Well I am not sure really? But just that I learned a lesson about why Compact Flash Cards are used in the professional equipment as opposed to the SDHC standard.
Yes the card is more than adequate for the data transfer speeds involved in full HD video. In fact I also learned something else here. I learned that its not necessarily the HD video thats most demanding on data transfer speed. Its actually using camera's 'burst' mode or 'continuous' shooting modes where numerous RAW images are stored at rapid succession. I am not sure about the performance of this card when it comes this. I think you would probably go for an even faster card if you are that serious and concerned about high speed RAW capture.
Anyway for my needs this card is fine and have had few or no problems with it. Its also pretty good value for money too. Great.
