Customer Review

on 3 October 2010
What a delightful book! In simple terms each fly is presented from hook-to-hackle and tips on how to use it.

Flies are arranged as 'wet' or 'dry' and indications for which fish they seem best.

The use of tools is kept to a reasonable limit and knots are explained well: most finishing is done by pulling ends through preceeding turns.

Considering the size of book, a considerable range of flies are presented and from the plates, own should be able to easily design your own by selecting a suitable 'base fly' to work from. The flies would seem to fit a variety of hook sizes.

The photographs, taken I think by a macro lens, are nice and sharp, focussing on the detail being described. I think that anyone that fly fishes will find this a useful book to have in their library.
