This is one of the finest books on Ali/boxing that has ever been published. It is fitting that the book itself is larger than life and such a heavyweight, literally like Ali himself. It could be one of those fancy coffee table books, but it could itself be a coffee table. Mine came in a thick card case with handle, which isn't shown in the images above.
This isn't just a bio of Ali, it's a complete and epic celebration of his life and is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest sportsmen of all time. Someone who not just transcended boxing, but who also played a significant role in a wider cultural context. The tome features thousands of images of Ali's life and career, including photography, art and memorabilia; and also features text, essays, interviews, memoirs and original writing.
Image quality is superb - and a great mixture of colour/B&W - the paperstock is nice and thick, and the writing is excellent. This isn't just a book for fans of Ali or boxing; if you like sports, sporting icons, or even just icons, then this should be a definite purchase. If you're wavering because of the price, don't. This is value for money.
