I love cooking, and I love etymology, and I love trivia, so I absolutely loved this book. It's a straight up history of the etymology of nearly 2500 food and cookery terms, engagingly explained without ever making the mistake of trying too hard to be funny. I was going to suggest keeping it on the kitchen bookshelf alongside your Bee Wilson books, but when I did that I kept picking it up and getting absorbed in it whilst I should have been concentrating on my cooking. so don't do that. Do buy it though - it's excellent.
