I purchased this unit having had a lepai TA-2020a for a while and being in need of a second little amp. My unit was purchased from elsewhere but had the hum issue that some people are reporting - even if nothing was playing. The hum started and stopped when on mute in time with the LED display flashing. Upgrading the capacitor on the board behind the display fixed the hum for me - I soldered a second 220uf capacitor to the underside of the board beneath the current one (I could have upgraded the existing one but I only had 220uf to hand). This fixed the problem, the amp is now whisper quiet and it is possible to listen to quiet music!
