New breed of Drum n Bass ?,
This review is from: Fly Away (MP3 Download)
Over the years dnb followed the same formula which was great for the first 15 years, but overtime it really gets tedious and boring, then came Pendulum with there awesome rock infused element added to drum and bass but not taking to many risks. Then in walks this Ryan Anthony guy and turns the whole scene upside down, i can imagine many purist biting there tongue at this song and i say song and not track because this is obviously a musician behind the music, its beautifully put together with a pretty dam good song structure which is completely missing in dnb.
Questions is.....should we call this a dnb or a d n pop track? who cares, this is a very risky track by a relatively unknown artist that is obviously sticking his head out and saying, this is how i want it, i don't care what people think so this is how you'll get it. The artist should be commended on that alone, so many bands these days play it safe, afraid to step out of the norm. There is a part in this track that could pass for chillout music if it was slower with some jazzy style piano over it, its hard to explain, you have to experience it yourself, cheesy some say? i say genius, more like this please. My friend is not into dnb as he calls it soulless music, when i forced him to listen to Fly Away he merely murmured there is hope for this style yet **lol**
All i can say is buy it, if your into dnb and buy it if your not!
