I have just been reading the reivews of this book and cant believe some of the comments that peope have made.
Whilst not great literature (which it doesnt claim to be), Walking Ollie is an entertaining book about dog ownership, which i would happily pass on to a fellow dog lover. What makes this book interesting is the initiation of a complete new comer into the world of dogs and dog ownership. His observations (about both dogs and humans) remind me of some of the things I thought and felt when I got my rescue dog.
Also to all the negative reviewers - calm down dear! THe author acknowledges his generalisation of dog breeds and owner stereotypes so why take it so personally! He also acknowledges many of the mistakes he made in his handling of Ollie and whilst painful to read on occassion, we've all made mistakes!
This is a short book (with big writing!) and does stop semi- abruptly, once the situation with Ollie has been sorted, rather than going on in nauseating detail about their day to day love for each other.
I would therefore recommend giving this book a go! It'll only take you an hour or so to read and you may be pleasantly surprised given the mixed reviews this book has received!
