I love my sf and I'm really fussy when it comes to reading.I don't get to read a lot so it's important to me that I do not waste time on books that I struggle to be entertained by. To me Peter Hamilton is the top writer in this genre. I picked this based on reviews and to be honest was very skeptical, I'd never heard of this guy, it was too cheap then you notice he was self published. All of these things niggle away at you, I mean, if it was of quality surely this would not be released in this manner? I don't mind paying a fair price for good books and let me say, I would have been very happy to pay a full publishers price for this one. It is fair to say that I was absolutely fascinated and hugely entertained by this incredibly unusual story and cannot wait to read the second part. Yes it is violent in places, but necessary to ensure you are placed in exactly the right frame of mind as intended by the author. So Stephen Ayres - bloody well done mate, great job and if you maintain this level of story-telling in the future, then surely this is where you will work on a full time basis as you thoroughly deserve it.
