If you like fiction, and are interested in the authors of fiction, this book will definitely interest you.
Similarly, if you are interested in portrait photography, this hefty tome holds plenty to keep you busy.
The book is a really sturdy affair, lovely to hold and browse through, with thick, matted pages.
It features 250 writers, each given a right-hand page for their photo and a left-hand page for some information about their life and works.
The authors include most of the global big-hitters you'd expect - Proust; Kafka; Faulkner; Joyce; Beckett - and some more modern authors - Atwood; Zadie Smith; Delillo; Roth - as well as some lesser known names from around the globe that, I for one, will now be tracking down books by.
The photographers include Pablo Picasso, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Lord Snowdon.
The is a superb reference book, as well as something to flick through if you're looking for inspiration for what to read next. Thoroughly recommended.
