4.0 out of 5 stars Like father like son....talented!, 16 Dec. 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: I'll Be Lightning [Us Import] (Audio CD)
I can't wait to hear this album in it's entirety. I have heard a few songs from it and it's obvious that Liam has inherited his brilliant dad's talents (Crowded House/Neil Finn)
Liam's voice is an exact mix of his dad's and uncle Tim's.
Although comparison is inevitable I don't want this to be purely a review based on that. Liam is young and has a clear intelligence which shines through in the sensitive lyrics of his songs. He is obviously not afraid to play as many instruments as he can manage and to experiment in order to get the sound he wants.
Hopefully this will be the first of many solo albums and the beginning of a career as long and successful as the older Finn generation. Who knows maybe one day there will be a father/son collaboration too, what could be better?

Silly customer review. Excellent album.

M. Bowers says:
What are you on about? The reviewer gives the album four stars and hopes to hear more from Liam, and you call him 'silly'? Your comment should be struck from the record! I actually find this review helpful, as a massive fan of Neil/Tim Finn, Crowded House and Split Enz, as the comparison with this music is useful.

I stand by what was written earlier. The album is excellent and Liam's live performances with EJ Barnes are outstanding and well worth seeing if you get a chance. The reviewer herself admitted that she hadn't listened to the whole album. As for his voice being an exact mix of his father's and uncle's? The review sounded completely biased. Judge the poor lad on his own talents, not by those of other people.
