I have been lucky enough to attend both a short and a full-day seminar with 'Coach Carl', and he remains one of the best teachers (in the fullest sense of the word) that I've encountered. This book is a fantastic elaboration of the philosophy, movement principles and practices that I learned from him in those seminars. The term 'Freestyle' relates to the idea of practicing a variety of disciplines, in order to develop skills that are universally applicable, to help one reach specific goals. As someone who is most interested in what happens, what can be learned, at the space between disciplines or activities, this book is something of a manifesto. If you are interested in human movement, both in theory and in practice, its is a brilliant resource.
