A fair read, but I feel the action and suspense always simmered but never really gripped enough, and as such I had to pick this up several times. Khoury deals up an Iraqi version of Dr.Mengele looking for an immortality potion, and some ancient scripts held by archaeologist Mother and daughter team in the Lebanon, as well as some clues to an eternally youthful Marquis and Count in Europe from the 17'th century. These are all brought together in a reasonable plot with the CIA and UN teams in Beirut and Mosul. Whilst the underlying plot is a tad far fetched, I would have enjoyed the read more, if the thrills and suspense were ratcheted up.
