This really sucks!,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a great vacuum cleaner, sturdy and smart-looking with powerful cyclonic suction. Emptying the bin is quick and convenient once you get the hang of it, and the tools fit neatly onto the machine. It seems well-built and the design of the retractable hose/explorer lance is quite ingenious. There's a long reach.
However, I do have a few reservations. Firstly it is as others said very noisy. Using this after about 9pm will get you in trouble with your neighbours. Secondly it's pretty darn hefty. I found picking it up was quite an effort and its centre of gravity is not quite right. When you unclip the lance and use it to reach under the bed, I find the expanding hose has enough resistance to easily pull the machine about and tip it over. The last issue I have is the most troublesome- the cord does not retract back into the body of the cleaner, and you need to completely unwind it to unclip the lance. This presents a very real possibility of running over the power cord as it lies unspooled on the floor, and you need to gather it up in your hand to make sure it doesn't happen. This seems to me a pretty major design flaw. For the price, a retractable cord ought to have been a given.
As to whether it's worth the cost, well, it's not the cheapest vacuum cleaner out there but it's about the same price as a Dyson and like I said it's sturdy and durable. The 5 year guarantee bears out the fact that Hoover has a lot of confidence in this machine and I expect it to be very reliable for years to come. As long as you don't think the issues mentioned above will be a problem for you, I would recommend it because it is a thorough, effective cleaner.
