TOP 500 REVIEWERon 22 March 2013
Mixed bag. It's the kind of story I always wanted to write as a child - going into fairy stories. Really liked the idea of seeing the characters in fairytales AFTER the stories end (Goldilocks as a fugitive, Cinderella pregnant), but Chris Colfer doesn't have the greatest writing style. A few points of bad grammar annoyed me, and Connor falling asleep and being generally annoying with his pessimism and silly one-liners, as well as Alex crying a lot grated with me. The girl-fight with Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks was cringe-worthy too.
Overall it will please Colfer's Glee fans I think and younger readers, and shows imagination but is not a literary masterpiece. Would I have loved it age 10 though? Of course!
