Customer Review

on 21 May 2001
This is an album for anyone who loves jazz piano, and likes to hear something new and different. This album hears a live recording of Alexander playing some of his own stuff, which is along the lines of T Monk and Oscar Peterson, but spiced up with a bit of funk and Jamaican groove! You may doubt that reggae, ska and jazz could ever all be combined, but Alexanders fusion of these elements produces a trully inspirational sound. With thirty five years of professional experience, its no surprise he has such a great feel for balance and composition. This is a trully great album. If you enjoyed Wynton Marsalis on 'Joe Cools Blues' then I imagne this is an album you would enjoy, but if you just love the sound of jazz piano at its greatest, then you will certainly love this as well! Enjoy!
