Customer Review

on March 9, 2011
Believe the hype. Tolle offers a perspective on the human ego that, without judgement, instruction or dogma, could alter the way we see, and behave towards, ourselves, each other and our world.

We're all pretty familiar with the concept, if not the workings, of the ego though we often tend to associate it with arrogance and power of 'other people'. This book is about the ego in all of us and how we can transcend it.

It goes beyond offering us a path to happier lives as individuals; it creates a credible and humble vision of a way forward for humanity. Tolle does this without being grand, evangelical or apocalyptic. He is true to his word - there is no ego, no "I" in his writing.

We have been swamped in recent years with self-help books, and books about spiritual and personal growth - most of them worthy, some of them life-altering and all of them, in a variety of ways, telling us the same vital things about the times we live in. A New Earth is the best of them all and we are ALL capable of understanding and learning from it. The world won't change unless we do.

We need to pay attention. Please read this book.
