Great phone spoiled by dreadful signal problems,
This review is from: Nokia N97 Mini Sim Free Mobile Phone - Black (Electronics)
I was a big fan of Nokia phones and have had quite a few of them over the years, including one Symbian one before this. The N97 mini is a brilliant phone: fast, good touch interface, good keyboard, reasonable battery life. OK. S60 5th edition might take some getting used to but it does the job well. Unfortunately, this phone seems to have real problems with its antennae or something related. When other Nokia mobiles on the same network in the same room are showing maximum strength signals, this shows 1 or 2 bars or none at all. Sometimes it shows a reasonable signal, only to lose it as soon as you pick it up to make a call. There are also problems with WiFi. Where my S60 3rd edition phone will stay connected for hours, the N97 mini either doesn't find a network or it connects and then drops it when, for example, you turn the handset from portrait to landscape so that you can use the keyboard.
This is not a one-off: I've had three of these and they've all shown the same problems (if you look around, you'll see that I'm not the only one). Sadly, this means I'm looking for something from another manufacturer because I just can't waste any more time.
If it can't make calls, it isn't a phone.
