This review is from: Wordsmith's Tale, The (Paperback)
Really impressive: charming, historically interesting, strangely gripping, highly literate, ... and unlike any other book I have read. The use of language is the high-spot for me: really thought-provoking and, when you are least expecting, witty. I particularly liked the back-definitions of some English expressions: not least, of "Taking the mickey". Yet the author somehow manages to avoid coming across as a "clever clogs". If the physical book is still part of your reading experience, you may find the weight, paper and binding of the hardback edition add to the delight.
