As a long time hard core Yes fan I was really excited to discover that there was to be an official release of the Union tour. Unfortunately this is a real disappointment. I saw the tour at Wembley Arena in London and it was pretty good. This is apparently the last night of the tour and it seems as if the band have a) got lazy, as the set-list is considerably shorter than it was at Wembley and b) got so far up their own ****s that they can't see the wood for the trees. If you like extended soloing then this is the gig for you! Gone is the subtlety that we love Yes for. Gone is Steve Howe's delicate guitar work. Here everything is stamped all over my Trevor Rabin's screeching guitar. On album he is reasonably restrained. The three albums he recorded with yes are actually pretty decent. But live he just doesn't know when to stop and oh God you'll wish he did before the end. Such a shame - I was so looking forward to this ad having listened to it and watched it once I really have no desire to do so ever again. A wasted opportunity.
