This is an informative and helpful book. Dr Suzanne O'Sullivan essentially argues for greater understanding of psychosomatic disorders, better treatment and support. It is an opinion that I, as a NHS Consultant Neuropsychologist, wholeheartedly share. My only gripe is Dr O'Sullivan's over-reliance on a Freudian psychoanalytical approach and psychiatric interview. In my experience a broad CBT approach in the hands of experienced clinical psychologists and psychotherapists, sometimes in combination with physiotherapists can be very helpful and effective.
