Buffy the vampire slayer is a hit tv series so what was next? A hit game of course. This game breaks the trend of tv and movie games. They are nearly almost rubbish, but buffy has started to change that proving that they can be good, or in this case excellent! The graphics are excellent and set the standard for xbox games and although an older game still set the benchmark level. All characters look very realistic. Their voices also add to the realism EXCEPT for buffy. Unfortunatly sarah michelle gellar did not lend her voice for this game which is ashame as that would be the icing on the cake. Saying this when you let yourself get involved with the game u can let yourself imagine it is buffy saying those catchy one liners well cooley slaying vamps. The settings are also very detailed and are the same from the tv show allowing you to get really into the game and they add that bit more realism that some competitors lack. The gameplay is detailed and keeps you interested for long periods of time. You'll only need to stop to let your blisters heal. The only major problem is quicksaves or should i say the lack of them they are few and far between in levels so you usually find yourself playing the whole level again even when you were within reach of the end. The combat engine is excellant and staking vamps has to be one of the most rewarding things availiable to do on a game. The kelling of enemies isnt restricted to stakes you get crossbows, baseball bats, spades, snooker cues and more. throwing vamps into trees and other poity objects will also end with them being turned to dust. The kicks and combos also offer huge variety and are simpl enough to perform, plus they look cool when kicking evils ass! Overall this game is excellent, the only thing that stops it being perfect are minor niggles like buffys voice or lack of it, and the quick save problem but other than those and a few others it is perfect. A worthwhile buy at this price too!
