I am delighted to see the first of the Borrible books now available as an ebook. If I remember correctly, I first read this volume not long after it was published, in the seventies, and have keenly followed them, buying the original paperbacks and then, only a few years ago, the single volume of the trilogy.
There's not much to say, apart from "read it!". I can remember the excitement of my first reading, having discovered something quite different from standard children's fare; it was something very special.
One thing: if you have ever seen a children's TV series from the early seventies called "The Wombles" (or read the book, by Elizabeth Beresford): well, you have a treat in store. Borribles are the anti-wombles.
