The ABBA cash cow is milked again...,
This review is from: The Albums (Audio CD)
...and just in time for Christmas!
Difficult to see who this set is really aimed at. On the one hand, the casual listener is already well served by the numerous ABBA compilations currently on the market (there are or have been more ABBA Best Ofs than there have genuine ABBA studio albums); on the other, the serious fan will be disappointed by the lack of genuine rare material (no foreign language hits and, more importantly, no unreleased stuff from the vaults).
So, peerless though some of the music is, I can rate this latest repackaging no higher than three stars :-(

J. Saunders says:
I have to disagree with your comments, as I have been an Abba fan for as long as I can remember. i do have all their albums, but alas no longer have a turntable to play them. There are several songs on the albums which have never been recorded on collections and two of my favourites which I have to mention is Dum Dum Diddle and Ring Ring.

Mr Saunders. You're right about "Dum Dum Diddle", but you can find "Ring Ring" (both an English vrsion and a Swedish/German/Spanish version) on the box set "Thank You for the Music". Therefore, you may find others ...One track noticeable by its absence is "I Am the City".
One thing to say, the bonus tracks are very good quality versions, with better, fuller, productions of the first 7 or 8 tracks - as if they had re-recorded them.
By the way, Amazon is selling this at £38 - HMV for £15 ...!
