I hadn't heard of Anata until I caught a track from Under A Stone With No Inscription on a free CD with Terrorizer Magazine. I thought that track was pretty good and so bought the Album as soon as it was released. I wasn't disappointed because I found a death metal album that credits the genre. The guitar riffs are technical and superb with classic structure on display, and the drums are very fast, yet do not overpower everything else due to a finely balanced production. There is a lot of Death Metal out there nowadays and not all of it is brilliant, but if you need an introduction to the genre, or are fed up with hearing so much stuff that sounds good, but not exceptional, then this CD is the one for you.
