Arghhh!! So Frustrating!!,
This review is from: Cake Mania (Nintendo DS) (Video Game)
This is such a frustrating game. The waitress moves so slowly. You have to tap various things in the stages of making the cakes and if make a mistake and tap the wrong thing, you have to wait until it finishes before you can make the correct choice. This loses you time and customers disappear very quickly, often as you are about to give them their finished cake!!!
As the game progresses, you have to bake two cakes on top of each other. It's extremely difficult to see what shape the cakes are and what colour the icing is. In fact, for most of them I found it impossible.
If you are looking for a waitressing type game serving customers, then Diner Dash is a much better game. Very addictive and lots of fun.
Cake Mania however, is a maddening game. I found myself swearing at it (and I don't normally swear) and getting stressed. Games should be fun and not drive you mad like this one.

I haven't played the DS Cake Mania (I've downloaded a PC version) but in that you can buy new shoes for Jill that make her walk a LOT faster. Likewise you can buy a TV and once you work out what channels the different customers like (e.g. the grannies like the cooking channel) you can keep them amused so they'll be willing to wait longer for their cakes. Don't know if it's the same in the DS version but it's worth checking out.
