I really wanted to like it...,
This review is from: Autumn from the Heart of the Home (Hardcover)
This was recommended to me by a friend in New England. I've never been there but have always wanted to visit, particularly in autumn. Goes back to books I used to read when I was younger. Anyway, autumn is my favourite season, I love cookbooks and so I thought Susan Branch's book would fit the bill nicely.
While the recipes are good, the curly pretty font used throughout made this book excruciatingly painful for me to read. I write in cursive myself but I could only bear a page at a time. Also, the quotes and text that go around the page in different directions is extremely annoying.
If a better font was used alongside real pictures of a New England autumn and the recipes, I'd give this book 5 stars. Also if you're visually impaired, this book may be a nightmare. If the rest of Susan Branch's books have these annoying fonts and text placement, I certainly will not read them.
