This was well thought out and I found my curiosity kept me turning the pages. The structure was good and the characters varied though very standard which gave it something of a thirties feel. I felt Carmichael presented a better characterisation than Falconer. This standardisation of characters meant, sadly, that I guessed the identity of the murderer long before the end. I could see this as a play in a local theatre and I'm sure everyone would enjoy it immensely!
