If you read the first book, you have to read the second; Alastairs Humphreys trip through the Americas, Asia and Europe to complete his bike trip around the world. Cycling though Siberia in the winter doesn't sound particularly smart to me, but it makes for great reading. Most impressive is the die-hard attitude to fight everything from impossible headwinds to corrupt officials, and the determination and creativity to keep costs down. All along there are serious reflections of the world and the people in it. It makes me want to go out there and experience it for myself.
