As a lifelong Lennon fan I was looking to watching this film. I did enjoy it and it was very informative, particularly about his early activities in NYC and subsequent “monitoring” by the authorities, but I somehow didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I might. One aspect that left me feeling rather cynical was the inclusion of so much of Yoko’s output as incidental music. It wasn’t too intrusive (on the surround mix anyway) but it was there all the same. You could argue that John was playing on them so then why not put the vocal fader down so that we could hear him?
I’ll probably watch it again once or twice but I can see it gathering some dust in between viewings.
