1.0 out of 5 stars Beware US versions being sold by Quality Bargains UK, 6 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: ASUS Google Nexus 7 7-inch Tablet (2GB RAM, 32GB eMMC) (Personal Computers)
The unit I received was a US unit with US charger in the box with a UK adapter thrown in separate from the official box. Initially overlooked this thinking that the unit would perform the same. However there is a known issue with copying files via the usb cable.
I tried to copy a folder full of pictures (2000+) and it would fail after a few seconds or copying a few pictures. The nexus unit will display the message "android.process.media has stopped" disrupting the connection to the pc where the only remedy is to physically unplug and re-plug the usb cable.

I have tried 5 factory resets, updated to the latest android version, used different computers, used different usb cables none of which remedied the issue.

I think it is also a deliberate misrepresentation that the nexus 7 being sold from the alternative sellers are not informing us that their units are the US version. They are being listed alongside the official UK ones being sold without being explicit about the information.

The fulfilled by amazon tag is no guarantee that you are going to get the correct and working product you've ordered.

I had this same problem. Nexus has a problem with copying anything more than 1GB worth of files in one go. specially if each file is 2-3MB.

i solved the problem by copying 1GB or less at a time. all photos. in the end i copied all 16GB of photos. transfer speed is also faster when doing it in increments of 1GB.

Well I should update my review at some point but I did find a solution that involves creating a .nomedia file described here...

While I did decide to keep the product I'm still not happy that it was sold without it being stated as an American version anywhere on the product description at the time of purchase.
