I love and hate this head torch. I love the brightness, the lens beam adjustment and it's ability to be dimmed. There is a sense of quality about the metal parts.
The plastics and wiring are cheap though. I pulled mine off my head yesterday at work and one of the plastic clips that holds the lamp housing on to the stretchy cord snapped. It's now taped on the the stretchy cord with electrical tape. I'm just waiting for the next bit of cheap plastic to snap and require the same type of bandaging.
The wiring that runs between the battery pack and the lamp housing (via the charging box) is fully exposed and therefore a likely candidate for snagging on things. I suspect many people will buy these for work who may work in confined dark spaces with many snagging hazards. The wiring design therefore is far from ideal. I'm thinking about taping up the wiring to the stretchy cord tomorrow to avoid what seems to be an inevitable breakage in the future.
If they got these design elements correct then i'd mark it higher as it's a great light source but at this stage, they not only need to go back to the drawing board on the wiring, but they need to redesign the plastic clips that hold the lamp to the stretchy cord. Or at least make them out of something other than the cheapest of plastics.
