A milestone in WWF history,
This review is from: WWF: Wrestlemania 4 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The video which is split on to two tapes is four hours short. the main focus of the video is to crown a new WWF champion after the belt became vacant for the 1st time in it's history. the video kicks off with adecent battle royal to determine the winner of some worthless trophy and more importantly move a wrestler into contention for a WWF title shot. it's good but inferior to the entertaining one at WM2. The 16 man tournament starts with the fresh - faced ted dibiase taken on the washed up hacksaw jim duggan in a poor bout. rick steamboat and greg valentine have a dissapointing encounter and the one man gang and 1987's rookie of the year bam bam bigalow bounce about in a worthless affair. the late rick rude and everyones favourate smack head jake roberts have one of the most boring matches in WM history. step up randy savage who saves the tournament with a steller performance as he carries losers like butch reed and one man gang to levels they've never reached before. the IC match featuring honky tonk man and brutus beefcake is half decent whilst Demolition and strike force knock up the match of the night in a great bout.
crowd favourate and then hollywoods fastest rising star hulk hogan and andre hit rock bottom in a mess and hercules and ultimate warrior try to kill each other in a hard hitting match up.
the tournament final makes sure the card ends on a high note giving the crowd what they want - someone new as champion.
although the wrestling could be better there is a decent storyline throughout - brilliant comentating fromjesse ventura and a decent six man tag featuring the brilliant bobby heenen - worth the cash.
